January 2026 will mark the beginning of an annual event for the Augustana School of Music (SoM), known as the Augustana Day of Percussion. The event will feature an entire day of interactive masterclasses, All-State one-on-one help sessions, as well as chamber music performances.The 2026 Augustana Day of Percussion will feature guest artist Heartland Marimba. Alongside Heartland Marimba, local and regional high school and collegiate percussion students and teachers will have the opportunity to participate in clinics, ensemble work and coaching. An afternoon showcase will also feature Dr. Marco Schirripa of Central Michigan University, who will perform selections from “Pixel Masterworks."
