About this Event
The Sunday Youth Day Pass provides access to the following events:
- Sunday: Individual Teen Poetry Slam #3
- Sunday: Poetry Workshops
- Sunday: Poetry & Ice Cream Open Mic
This pass allows youth (19 and under) to participate in festival activities during the day on Sunday. This pass is not a registration to compete during the Festival; to compete at the Individual Teen Poetry Slam #3, please register
For audience access to the Team Slam Finals, all attendees (of all ages) must acquire a SEPARATE Team Slam Finals Pass.
All Festival attendees must first check in at the Bordy Theater in the Union Bank Building before attending any Festival events. Entry to all buildings and events requires a badge and you will not be allowed entrance without it. Tickets to the Team Slam Finals will be included with your badge.
The only exception to this requirement is if you are solely attending the Team Slam Finals and no other Festival event, in which case you may proceed directly to the Semel Theater in the Tufte Building.

Sunday: Registration + Check In + Breakfast
Info: Sunday morning will have registration, check in, and some light breakfast options available for competing poets. Teens must check in before participating in slams and events if they did not already do so the previous day. There will be a registration table by each major event throughout the weekend.

Sunday: Individual Teen Poetry Slam #3
Info: This prelim slam is a young poet's (age 13 - 19) opportunity to compete for a spot in the Individual Slam Finals on Saturday, April 11th. Poets looking to compete can sign-up via the registration form on our website. The top five poets (ages 13-19) from the Individual Slam Finals will form the Mass Poetry Youth Slam Team and will meet, write, and perform poems throughout Massachusetts, and hope to send the team to the Brave New Voices Festival in July. Adults are welcome to attend the slam as supportive and excited audience members.

Info: After the Individual Teen Poetry Slam #3, teens are invited to participate in a series of non-competitive workshops led by local poets and artists.

Sunday: Poetry & Ice Cream Open Mic
Info: After Sunday’s workshops, we will have a poetry open mic with ice cream! Teens can come, grab a bite, and share some poems. This is the last opportunity to share poems during the weekend before the Team Slam Finals. Any teen is welcome to participate.
