Join us for a Dawn Chorus Walk on Saturday June 6th 2026, 5am -6am.
Enjoy Nature’s sounds and learn to recognise different bird songs during a dawn chorus walk. Bring your own binoculars for an even more immersive experience. The walk will be for about an hour around Heaton Mersey Common.
Elise from The Jolly Upcycler will be your guide. You may have seen her around the Common with her binoculars and her camera. Elise will be supported by the team from Sustainable Living in the Heatons.
The walk is mostly flat with some possible muddy patches. Wear proper clothes and footwear in case it rains. The event will be postponed only if heavy rain is forecast. The route will be suitable for wheelchair users as it can be on flat even paths.
We ask for a £5 booking fee. This will be refunded to you in cash only when you join the event.
Meet at 5am at the entrance to Heaton Mersey Common at the junction of Priestnall Road and Heaton Mersey Road, Heaton Mersey, Stockport SK4 3DJ. This is by the post box inserted into the wall and the plaque to Hans Reynald. It can also be reached by walking along the footpath that links Trentham Avenue (SK4 3QD) and Mersey Road. If you need to drive, there is parking along both Priestnall and Mersey Roads.
