Following widespread success, sold out tours, and critical acclaim as frontman of multiplatinum band The Revivalists, New Orleans-born singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist David Shaw introduced himself as a solo artist with his self-titled debut, David Shaw, in 2021. Beyond generating tens of millions of streams, it incited unanimous critical praise. Billboard hailed the single “Got Me Feeling Good” as “an uplifting, sing-along style anthem,” and NOLA.com applauded how “the album has a range of feel-good styles: fiery rock ’n’ roll, soul, funk, rhythm and blues and more. And there’s a staunch optimistic streak throughout.” American Songwriter christened the record “a bold break- out.” Between solo material and his output with The Revivalists, his songs have notably been played over 1 billion times and counting to date. During 2024, he takes the next step on his journey. His second full-length LP, Take A Look Inside [OneRPM], strikes an intimate chord. Against a backdrop of hazy acoustic guitar, organic percussion, ethereal piano, bluesy grooves, and seismic vocals, he explores life, love, relationships, and fatherhood with acute intuition, keen insight, and unabashed honesty. With David even helming the production, it offers the most unfiltered exploration of his artistry to date introduced by the first single and title track.
