Now in its 29th season, the Muelder Summer Carillon Concert Series brings the distinctive sound of Beaumont Tower’s bells to life from the heart of MSU’s beautiful campus. Curated by Jon Lehrer, University Carillonist of MSU, the series invites listeners to gather on the surrounding grounds for a summer evening of music. Concerts take place Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m. in July and the first week of August and are free and open to the public. Bring a chair or blanket, pack a picnic, and come enjoy this treasured summer tradition at MSU.Guest Carillonist: David Hunsberger
David R. Hunsberger is Assistant Carillonneur at the University of California, Berkeley, where he has served since 1983. An experienced performer, he has presented carillon recitals throughout the United States and internationally in Europe, New Zealand, and Australia. Hunsberger has also played a long‑standing leadership role within the Guild of Carillonneurs in North America, serving for decades as legal counsel and treasurer. He holds degrees from Baldwin Wallace College, where he graduated cum laude, and Washington University in St. Louis.
Tours of Beaumont Tower are available after the concert.
Concerts take place rain or shine, but will be postponed or canceled if there is inclement weather.
