From the outskirts of Toronto, Canada, David Celia is an innovative singer-songwriter and acclaimed guitarist known for his spontaneous live performances. He tours widely across Canada and Europe (including seven appearances at Glastonbury Festival) and has been called “one of Toronto’s best guitar players” by CBC Radio. His music has featured on CBC, BBC and WNYC, and even the late Gordon Lightfoot was a fan.Celia has played with artists ranging from Ian & Sylvia Tyson to Emiliana Torrini, and has supported acts including Elvis Costello, Badly Drawn Boy, Fairport Convention, Ron Sexsmith, Martha Wainwright and Kiefer Sutherland. Career highlights include a jam with Christophe Lindemann of Kadavar at Duna Jam and performing at Trafalgar Square, London for Canada Day 2025.
His latest single, “Wake Up Again,” is out now, and he’s currently recording a new album in Wales and Toronto. This spring, David and drummer Clifford Rutherford will tour Europe and the UK alongside David’s sons Marcus and Lucas, performing feel-good, thought-provoking Canadiana with rich three-part Beatles- and Byrds-inspired harmonies and open musical improvisation.
