Join food writer and chef-instructor Shawnie Kelley as she shares four elegant recipes that will transport you to the City of Light. The main entrée is a classic, lemony sole Meunière, the popular fish dish that stole Julia Child’s heart. It may have a fancy name, but the preparation is quick and approachable, as you will learn the technique for pan-searing and butter-basting fish. Also sure to impress are pommes duchesse — mashed potatoes piped into fancy swirls and baked until golden. Glazed spring vegetables bring color and texture to the plate. For dessert, individual chocolate almond cakes round out the beautiful dinner. Shawnie draws on her years of working and living in France to put together this cohesive meal that’s sure to give your friends and family the ooh-la-las. A glass of wine is included with the meal.
