Data Voices – Behind the Scenes
Join us for this first afternoon talk co-hosted by Danish Statistical Society and Danish Data Science Academy
- How can data scientists use their expert voice to qualify public knowledge and debates?
- How do they and media professionals collaborate on translating and mediating expert knowledge to a broader audience?
- And what are the considerations and approaches from the expert and media perspectives?
A strong panel will share experiences and insights from their cooperation:
Mikkel Meyer Andersen is an Associate Professor of Statistics at Aalborg University. He is very active in public science communication and widely quoted in the media as an expert in mathematical and statistical evaluation of DNA.
Anne Kirstine Hermann is an experienced reporter and host on DRs Orientering på P1. She holds a PhD in journalism and has been teaching journalism to university students.
Anders Høeg Lammers is the Researchers’ Editor at Videnskab.dk where he supports experts in communicating their research to lay people. Anders holds a bachelor’s in Philosophy/Social Science, and a Master’s in Journalism.
Stay for light refreshments and informal talk after the panel.
