About this Event

The Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 is finally here, and is making some big changes to data protection law.

Join us to find out how the changes proposed by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 differ to the old data protection regime (i.e. the Data Protection Act 2018, the UK GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications (PECR) Regulations).

We will also discuss how the new Act differs from the Data Protection and Digital Information Bill proposed by the previous government.



Why attend?

By the end of this session, you will:

  • Have a better understanding of the changes proposed by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025; and
  • Understand what you will need to do to ensure your organisation is compliant with the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025;
  • Understand how the changes made by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 differ to the previous data protection regime;
  • Understand how the changes proposed by the Data Protection and Digital Information Bill differ from the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025;
  • Be aware of the changes the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 makes to other provisions, for example, AI and copyright-related legislation; and
  • Be aware of some of the challenges that have been made against the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025.

This training session is aimed towards anyone who regularly deals with data protection matters for an organisation.

In particular, those responsible for an organisation’s data protection compliance, including but not limited to:

  • Data Protection Officers (DPOs).
  • Data Protection Practitioners.
  • Data Protection Leads.
  • Data Protection Managers.
  • Data Protection Teams.



Timings

Registration will be from 9.00am including breakfast. The session will run from 9.30am until 12.30p.m including a short refreshment break and time for questions.
