Hailing from Brisbane, Australia, blackened fantasy metallers Darklore are set to release their epic second studio album. The Great Elven War is a mighty quest across multiple magical realms that is just under seventy minutes long and includes eight energetic tracks.Musically, this album has elevated Darklore to new heights in terms of composition, content and musicality, in establishment of a sound that is truly their own. A heavy, crushing bass tone accompanies an intensity and aggression from the drums. The power of these elements is lightened by melodic riffing and harmonies from the guitars and an armoury of incredibly beautiful orchestral elements led by powerful war driven blackened death vocals.
Darklore have conjured a sound that highlights the triumphs of battle and truly inspires the hearts of warriors and loyal fans, alike. Thematically, the album takes us on a journey through exciting realms within the fantasy genre, from popular games such as Skyrim, The Witcher 3 and Diablo, to books and series/movie adaptations such as The Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones. The album is dotted with tales of their own creation, including the title track, The Great ElvenWar. This new offering from some of our favourite armoured bards will make you want to pick up a war drum, wand or enchanted weapon and join the horde. The Great Elven War is an original and compelling ode to those magical places of our dreams and nightmares, and will not disappoint.
Joining the battle on the night are two of Brisbane's finest metal acts: Glora and Warpseer.
Glora:
Glora are a 5 piece extreme metal band based in Brisbane, Australia. Featuring vocalist Brock Goebel, lead guitarist Jake Ryan, drummer Nick Truscott, rhythm guitarist Brian Hung and bassist Nick Greentree, Glora first made their mark with the release of their debut single in 2022 “Paralysed”, which amassed over 30 thousand plays across streaming platforms and remains their most popular work to this day. Characterised by a signature blend of aggressive death metal energy and melodic blackened atmospheres, the band continues to make waves in the Australian metal scene with the recent release of their debut EP “Descension”.
Warpseer:
Warpseer is Brisbane’s fastest growing black metal entity, having been birthed in the summer of 2023 and festering in Brisbane’s metal underground. It is the pervasive smell of death, of rotting flesh and the cacophonous sound of bleeding, ruptured eardrums. August 2025 saw the release of Warpseer’s long awaited new EP, ‘The Trollking’, which went on to cement Warpseer’s status as a force to be reckoned with in Brisbane’s metal scene. Warpseer’s shows are a live spectacle of blood and gore, backed up by an intense barrage of old school, first wave inspired black metal. Yet this is just the beginning, and the nightmare has only just begun…
