About this Event

Dark Moon Women's Circle

As part of the art exhibition ‘Burning Sisterhood’ Maga will be holding space for ceremony during the dark moon.

In astrology, the dark moon is the nights before the new moon, the end of the cycle, when she is in complete darkness. This is a potent time to reflect on everything that has unfolded within the cycle that has just passed and to bring stillness and rest before we enter a new cycle (New Moon in Cancer).

This phase is associated with the wise woman, an archetype within us, where we are asked to connect with our inner-knowing and listen to our intuition. You'll be guided to connect with this part of you through meditation and journaling prompts.

About Maga [@magaemanuela]

Maga is a yoga teacher and women's circle space holder. She has been holding space for women’s ceremonies / rituals for more than three years. It all started when a friend asked if she could join her New Moon / Full Moon rituals that until then, she was doing on her own.

Maga has been connecting with the cycles of the moon since her early 20s as a way to navigate the different challenges she was going through at the time: grieving the death of her mother, heartbreak, depression and an eating disorder. Taking the time each month to pause, reflect and set intentions on how she wanted to feel and things she wanted to change and let go of, helped her make life a bit easier and she started to feel better.

Gathering women has been her soul calling and yearning as she truly has experienced the magic that happens when we gather in circle, when we connect with those parts of us that need us the most, when we create time and space to connect with our bodies and our emotions, when we share and realise that in one way or another, we are all going through similar challenges and that we are not alone. To come back to sisterhood and heal our sister wounds created by the patriarchy.

About 'Burning Sisterhood' by Raquel Blazquez [@raquelblazquezart]

Through colourful figurative paintings Raquel Blazquez explores her own story as a woman, navigating the depths of women's connection, from competition and loneliness, to collaboration, creation and magic.

Her purpose is to share her own story and experiences through art, inviting the viewer to explore the complexities of their own experiences and emotions, and to find healing in the shared human experience. This exhibition will bring up topics of mental health, women’s connection, and intersectional feminism.

As part of this exhibition she will offer different workshops in collaboration with her sisters, creating safe spaces for all those identifying as women and non-binary beings feeling called to explore and gather in sisterhood.
