About this Event

Daria Mirea is a Romanian-born, Cambridge-based singer-songwriter whose writing is characterised by evocative storytelling and emotional nuance. Blending elements of folk, soul, and pop, her songs invite listeners into a space of introspection and connection, to create a dreamy and emotive, yet powerful sound.

Daria’s artistic journey began early, gaining national recognition on The Voice of Romania in 2018 for her compelling live performance. Since then, she has received ongoing support from BBC Introducing, Cambridge 105 Radio, earned a Female Solo Artist nomination at the 2025 NMG Awards, and performed at events such as The Cambridge Club Festival (Live & Local Stage).

This show marks the first full-band performance of her debut EP, June, a five-track project about the bittersweet nature of young adulthood. Daria will present a set of original music interwoven with soul classics, joined on stage by Rob Bullock (keys), Stefan Tumber (drums), Alex Orefice "Feechy" (bass) and Will Sketches (guitar).

Opening the evening is special guest Jess Brett with an intimate acoustic set.

Jess Brett

As a child, Jess could always be found with headphones on, leafing through the liner notes of Sgt. Pepper's by The Beatles. Once she was given a guitar, she quickly realised that music would be her passion.

After fronting the roots rock band "The Huxleys" on bass guitar and lead vocals, she has now settled into her own song-writing career. Jess produces passionate and soulful music that will speak to fans of artists such as Joni Mitchell and Tori Amos.
