
About this Event
As part of a City-wide commemoration of the Marquis de Lafayette’s return to the United States, and to Beaufort, 50 years after the successful American Revolution ended, The Beaufort History Museum is proud to present “Dancing with Lafayette,” a Ball in the Arsenal Courtyard on March 18th.
Dance lessons/instructions and music will be made available through a dance master. Lessons from 5:30-6:00 in the courtyard. The ball begins at 6:00 and ends at 8:00.Period dress/costumes are suggested, but not required. Authentic period finger foods will be available along with today’s beer and wine.
Guests at the event will also be encouraged to visit the Museum and a newly renovated room adjacent to the Museum on the second floor of the Arsenal. In this room, the Museum will showcase a circulating Lafayette exhibit that will draw visitors from throughout South Carolina and beyond.
The Arsenal and Beaufort History Museum is located at 713 Craven Street in historic downtown Beaufort, SC.
