Wilmington Conservatory Dance Technique Intensive: Week 2 + Auditions for 2026/27July 27–31, 2026
9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Cost: $400 per week (approximately 32 hours of instruction)
WCFA’s Technique Weeks are built to support the next stage of each dancer’s development. These intensive weeks help dancers build strength, technique, and skill while pushing their dancing to the next level and possible WCFA level placement/advancement. Each day begins with PBT conditioning, followed by ballet technique and a pointe or pre-pointe class. Afternoon classes will rotate through additional styles. Curriculum includes classical ballet, pointe and pre-pointe, variations, jazz, contemporary, modern, dance history, and anatomy. The goal is technical development, improved body awareness, and stronger artistic maturity.
Our WCFA faculty, alongside incredible guest faculty artists Cheryl Cutlip (former Radio City Rockette Dance Captain) Sarah Matzke (Former TCU Dance Professor) and Dayna Fox (University of North Carolina School of the Arts Faculty), guide each dancer forward with focused instruction to help move them confidently into the next level of their training. Technique Weeks are recommended for dancers seeking steady, challenging summer training, classical technical refinement, and readiness for the upcoming semester or future goals. Technique Intensive Weeks are open to advanced dancers across the Wilmington community, whether or not they plan to join WCFA for the upcoming school year.
This Week 2 intensive will conclude with auditions for WCFA 2026/27 Upper Level placements and 2026 Nutcracker Roles.
