Dance for Social Change 2025: 10 Year Anniversary Festival

The Dance for Social Change (DSC) Festival is Dancing Grounds’ signature annual event, bringing together youth, artists, and community members to explore social justice through movement, dialogue, and performance. Now in its 10th year, DSC Fest continues to be a powerful platform for young artists to tell their stories, challenge systemic issues, and inspire change through dance.

This year’s theme, "The Cost of Conformity: Behind the Classroom Door," dives into the realities of mental health in schools. Through original choreography, spoken word, and multimedia storytelling, our youth ensemble will shed light on the pressures, challenges, and resilience of students navigating today's education system.

Join us March 27–29 at the Contemporary Arts Center for a transformative weekend of performances, community gatherings, and conversations that honor a decade of activism, artistry, and impact.

Info: Join us for an immersive evening celebrating 10 years of Dance for Social Change! The night begins with an exclusive Patron Party for fundraiser ticket holders, featuring light bites, two complimentary drinks, and special insights from DG leadership and DSC team on our original youth-led production exploring mental health in schools. General admission doors open at 7:30 PM, leading into the DSC 10 Premier Performance at 8 PM, where audiences will witness powerful storytelling through dance, spoken word, and multimedia. After the show, stay for a Reception with Live Music & Special Guest, a space to connect, celebrate, and honor a decade of youth leadership and movement for change. Tickets start at $25, with exclusive discounts for DG members.

Info: DSC 10 Teen Night is a free event created for youth, by youth! This safe and empowering evening is dedicated to giving teens a platform to express themselves, explore solutions to the challenges they face, and connect with peers who share their experiences. Through open and honest dialogue, performances, and community support, teens will receive valuable resources on navigating mental health challenges in school. The night will feature a live DJ, a special guest performer, food, and inspiring performances by teen youth groups. Come dance, speak, heal, and build with us as we create a future where youth voices are heard and valued!
