Apart from touring worldwide with the London Blues Band, Dana has made films, was the original Mary Magdalene in the West End musical Jesus Christ Superstar (1972), worked with the late David Bowie and appeared on his the Ziggy Stardust album, was a close friend with Andy Warhol, started and ran the Mustique Blues Festival for 20 years and released her memoirs called ‘Weren’t Born A Man', which has received much critical acclaim.
Dana released her 74th album, First Love, on 31 May this year, produced by Marc Almond. The track ‘Spent the Day in Bed’ written by Morrissey, went straight to number 3 in the singles charts.
