This wonderful 5671 mtrs high peak in Iran can be conquered within 4 days, we are adding one buffer day just in case weather changes and would not allow us to reach the summit at the first attempt. Proper acclimatization is a key to success here, we will use all possible precautions to assure everyone gets to the top.
Our dormant volcano is located in the central part of Alborz Mountain Range in north of Iran on the southern coast of the Caspian Sea. It height makes it the highest volcano in Asia, the highest summit in the Middle East and the second highest volcano in the northern hemisphere.
Level of difficulty: peak day is hard: 10-12 hours at high altitude. Reaching the base camp on day 2 at 4200 mtrs is a nice and very pleasurable hike. Climbing is technically easy however due to the altitude, requires a good physical fitness. The main challenge of the ascend is acclimatization and the weather.
Trekking in summer is comparable to Kilimanjaro, Damavand has a very similar profile.
Let's go!
Day 1: Arrival to Tehran, short sightseeing, overnight in Tehran.
Day 2: Transfer to Camp 1, Polour
Day 3: Transfer to Camp 2 Base and ascend to Camp 3 Bargah.
Overnight in Camp 3.
Day 4: Ascent to the top and descent back to the Camp 3. Overnight in Camp 3.
Day 5: Descent to Camp 2 Base, pick up certificates from Polour and transfer to Tehran.
Day 6: Back to Tehran, Golestan Palace and Tehran Bazaar, buy flying carpet and departure home.
Level: Hard, high altitude ahead. Previous experience required.
Temperatures range: 20C at 2,200m to -10C at the peak, 5-10°C in the shelter.
Accommodation & meals: Shelters and hotels (double sharing in hotels), meals included.
Duration: 6 days
Cost: 4,300 AED including flights (Air Arabia), cash payment only. Deadline to join: MAY 10th. Past this date cost will change.
Portering to Camp 03 included.
Specifically excluded: e-visa. We will apply on your behalf, you ll need to visit consulate for payment and issuance of paper visa.
