Former Justice, 5th Court of Appeals
Justice Nowell will give “An Insider’s Look at How the Appeals Court Works and Why It Matters,” sharing insights from her years on the bench and decades of legal experience. A Wake Forest and UT Law graduate, she has built her career as a fierce advocate for fairness, equity, and accountability. Now practicing at Carter Law Group, she continues her work standing beside people, not institutions.

Our club has been busy this fall — recently hosting Prisma Garcia, DISD Trustee District 4, and joining Lions across the globe for the Lions International Week of Service, focused on Mental Health and Well-being Awareness.
We also partnered in a Build Beds for Children project, helping construct and deliver handmade beds, complete with bedding, to children in our community who did not have one of their own.
