In a culture shaped by speed, circulation, and spectacle, art and design no longer exist in separate spheres—they converge in the collectible. Once defined by rarity alone, the collectible now operates as a cultural artifact: a site where authorship, materiality, identity, and value intersect.This panel explores how objects move between function and narrative, utility and aura—how scarcity is constructed, how craft engages technology, and how meaning accrues through context, display, and desire. As art migrates beyond institutions and design becomes critical discourse, the collectible emerges as both intimate possession and speculative gesture.
