About this Event
Check out the adult dabke class series every Tuesday starting March 11th. NEW choreography based classes! Each level will include learning unique choreography to get students more comfortable with the steps. Freestyle dabke will still be the main focus of the classes.
The Tuesday series will be taught by Ayman, the director, choreographer, and trainer of the Thowra Dabke Troupe. The two most common types of Levantine dabke will be taught; 12-count (2 stomp) and 6-count (1 stomp). All classes are 1 hour long and are held in person at the Annex of the Arab American National Museum located at 13624 Michigan Ave, Dearborn, MI 48126.
NEW RAMADAN HOURS! This series of classes will be offered from 4:00-7:00pm; beginner, intermediate, and advanced.
In the beginner series you will learn the proper technique and all of the fundamentals with a few variations. This series is meant to allow one to follow along in a dabke line
In the intermediate series you will learn more complex steps and timing, combining multiple moves together. This series is meant for one to be able to lead a dabke line.
In the advanced series you will learn even more complex moves and variations. This series is meant to allow one to comfortably lead a line with the most complex freestyle moves and be able to join a dabke team. All classes build on the previous one.
