Starting at 10pm from Weymouth you have 550 minutes to keep moving before crossing the 07:10 Sandbanks Chain Ferry.
There is no finishing before 07:00
There is no finishing after 07:10
Self navigated, either solo or with pre arranged pair/trio/quad teams.
Self supported, carrying everything you require to endure the 9 hours of trailing. See notes for water points.
There are 2 contraband stations, which will try to sap time away from you with hot drinks, sweet and savoury luxuries, warm blankets and maybe even a dram.
You must cover as many miles and vertical gain as you can in the 9 hours, neither missing the ferry at 07:00 nor sitting on your butt waiting for it to arrive.
Event timings:
Meet in MacDonalds, Weymouth, near the train station at 21:30-21:50.
Take a 2 min brief at 21:50
Walk 5 minutes to the start point at the Clock Tower on the promenade at 21:55pm.
Start at 22:00 heading East to the coastal path, onward via your own route selection.
Route selections:
You are responsible for your route selection, provisions, repatriation, injury, or death.
Sections can be repeated to get more distance before the cut off.
Hills can be repeated to get more vertical gain before the cut off.
You must pass through the 2 Contraband stations. These will be revealed on the event instructions once you have entered. Your route selction must include visiting those two locations.

The train to Weymouth has been the choice of transport over the years. Get into the front carriage of the 20:33 Parkstone to Weymouth or stops before/ after. This will arrive in good time to walk to the Macdonalds.
What is the shortest distance from start to finish?
Don't sign up.
What happens if I get to the ferry early?
Run away from it, keep moving, get another mile done. Don't stop until 07:05.
What happens if I miss the 07:10 ferry?
Get the next one at 07:30 and get to H2o
What happens if I want to stop and go home?
Call your emergency contact and get them to pick you up at an accessible location. More details will be on the brief.
What happens if I get an injury or have an emergency?
The GPS tracker is activated by you, the Contraband crews will carry out a standard operating procedure and emergency services alerted if necessary. More details will be on the brief.
