M20CW and Fort Harrison State Park will again be hosting a D-Day based living history weekend, June 6 & 7, with a tactical battle demonstation on Saturday at 2:00 PM. Sunday June 7 will be only displays and will close at 2:30.The event is based on the fighting that took place in the "Bocage", the hedgerows of Normandy, after the D-Day landings on Omaha and Utah beaches. Along with uniforms, equipment and weapons used by during the D-Day landings. Our "Battle in the Bocage Reenactment" will demonstrate the tactics used to assault and defend the fields of Normandy France surrounded by their infamous hedgerows.
The demonstration will be to the east of the 701 & 702 buildings in the Camp Glenn area of the park. Come early and check out the displays, the entrance to the park can back up and delay your arrival time if you wait to close to the event start time.
There will also be a video of a previous presentation "Battle of Dog Green Beach" being shown in the display in building 710.
There is no extra charge for this event but normal Indiana State Park Gate fees do apply.
