Hello fellow Hikers!! ðŸ§I’m delighted to announce the details for the second hike of 2026!!
On Saturday 24th January, we’re taking on the mighty Pen y Fan and Corn Du via the Motorway route. This was my first mountain so it holds a very special place in my heart!
At 881m Pen y Fan is the tallest mountain in South Wales. The Motorway route is the most popular, straight forward and easiest route. Don’t be fooled though, it’s a slog in places, but the views at the top are totally worth it!
Please make it as easy on yourself as you can by eating carb heavy foods the day before, and having breakfast and caffeine if you can tolerate it a few hours before we begin the climb. I know it’s early, but trying to do this under fuelled will make it far tougher! Sugary snacks, drinks or gels throughout will also help keep those energy levels up!
As mentioned this route gets super busy, so please note the earlier start time of 9am.
