Mark your calendars for this special double bill CYMC fundraiser! The Georgia Strait Big Band is joined by Vancouver's Aegean on Feb 28th at the Little Red Church in Comox to bring you an afternoon of spectacular music.
All the way from North Vancouver, Aegean is a five-piece funk/jazz combo with many of its members hailing from the jazz program at Capilano University. Many of its members have roots from the Comox Valley and nearby areas, and they serve to showcase the musical talents of the Valley in Vancouver and other areas. You've probably seen many of them before playing around the Valley, but fresh off of their first year of university training, they're ready to give a show that you won't forget anytime soon.
The community-based Georgia Strait Big Band attracts and showcases both accomplished musicians as dedicated amateurs from the Comox Valley, playing a wide array of music styles from the big band era. The GSBB is headed up by Greg Bush, Retired Professor of the Jazz Program at Vancouver Island University, musician, arranger and composer.
Tickets are $20 at the door.
