Cyfansoddi Caneuon/Songwriting Workshop

Mae CULT Cymru yn rhaglen sgiliau a gefnogir trwy Cronfa Ddysgu Undebau Cymru Llywodraeth Cymru.

CULT Cymru is a skills programme supported through the Welsh Government's Wales Union Learning Fund. This workshop was organised with the help of Musicians Union ULR Pete Bayliss.

Byddwch wedi archwilio strategaethau a fydd yn helpu i sbarduno eich ysbrydoliaeth ar gyfer ysgrifennu caneuon newydd. Byddwch yn darganfod technegau effeithiol i ganfod ysbrydoliaeth a gwella'r llif creadigol.

Cynnwys y cwrs

Mae hwn yn weithdy hamddenol a rhyngweithiol, lle bydd cyfranogwyr yn cymryd rhan mewn cyfres o ymarferion i roi hwb i'r broses greadigol. Bydd cyfranogwyr yn cael y cyfle i greu geiriau ac alawon mewn grwpiau yn ystod y sesiwn.

Beth sydd angen?

Oherwydd bod y sesiwn yn rhyngweithiol, bydd angen pad nodiadau a beiro arnoch neu fodd i gymryd nodiadau, ac efallai yr hoffech ddefnyddio ap neu ddyfais memo llais ffôn / tabled i recordio syniadau alaw. Gallwch hefyd gael offeryn wrth law os hoffech chi, ond nid yw hyn hanfodol.

Arweinydd y gweithdy

Mae Tracey Kelly wedi ysgrifennu a pherfformio caneuon ar ei phen ei hun a fel deuawd, wedi'i chanmol ar BBC Radio ac eraill, yn ogystal â chaneuon ar gyfer cynyrchiadau theatr a chorau plant. Mae hi wedi perfformio mewn lleoliadau ledled y Deyrnas Gyfunol, ac wedi cyfansoddi ar gyfer teledu'r BBC, sioeau ffasiwn, a digwyddiadau. Ar hyn o bryd mae'n gweithio ar EP unigol, ac mae Tracey hefyd yn gwasanaethu ar y Pwyllgor Gwaith (Cymru a De-ddwyrain Lloegr)

This workshop is for …

Songwriters of all levels, both experienced and those aiming to write songs for the first time.

Aim

To generate new songwriting ideas.

By the end of the workshop …

You will have explored strategies that will help spark your inspiration for writing new songs. You will have discovered effective techniques for “getting in the zone” to enhance creative flow.

Course content

This is a relaxed and highly interactive workshop, during which participants will engage in a series of exercises to kickstart the creative process. Participants will have the opportunity to create lyrics and melodies in groups during the session.

The workshop will include

- Techniques and tips to kickstart song ideas

- Ways to find inspiration via the arts and other avenues

- Methods to enhance your lyric-writing skills

- Setting up the ideal conditions for creativity to flow

- Overcoming the fear of beginning, and capturing a song sketch, fast

- Individual and group exercises to generate titles, build verses and shape your song

- Performance of songs (or song parts) created

What do I need to bring?

Because the session is interactive, you will need a notepad and pen or means to take notes, and you may want to use a phone/tablet voice memo app or device to record melody ideas. You can also have an instrument to hand if you’d like, but this is not essential.

Workshop leader

Tracey Kelly has written and performed songs solo and with former duo Tracey & Jason, lauded on BBC Radio and others, as well as songs for theatre productions and children’s choirs. She has performed at venues across the UK, and has composed for BBC TV, fashion shows, and events. Currently working on a solo EP, Tracey also serves on the Executive Committee (Wales & SW England).

CULT Cymru workshops are delivered in a friendly and non-threatening environment where participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and raise issues during the day.

Cancellation and Refunds Policy

A full refund will be issued to delegates who cancel at least 2 weeks prior to the event. Delegates who cancel within the 2 week period will not be eligible for a refund unless we are able to find someone else to take their place. Please let us know as soon as possible if you find you're no longer able to attend the workshop.
