What to expect?
This is a Beginner level class that covers what to do when you have a puncture on your tubed tyre. You'll learn how to:
- Identify your axle type
- Take your wheel off
- Apply a puncture patch
- Put it all back together
This is a hands-on class. You can bring your bike to practice on, alternatively we have bikes and wheels to learn with. You can also stay until 9 pm and use the Cycle Kitchen to do other bike work if you want.
This class is open to ETL members and non-members!
Cost of any parts purchased during the session not included.
Important info
Requirements
- Bring your own cycle (bike, trike, wheelchair, unicycle ...) to work on. Alternatively we have bikes and wheels to learn with.
Cancelling
- Out of courtesy to volunteers please cancel your booking 48 hours in advance.
- This will give us the opportunity to offer the spot to another attendee and make the most of the time our volunteers are offering!

*Proof of ETL membership required for discount when attending the workshop.

- The session will take place in the ETL Meadowbank Hub, 121 Lawrie Reilly Place, EH7 5GS.
- The shop is best accessed via the cycle-pedestrian path south of the railway bridge overpass.

**** NOTE: Please notify us before booking a ticket for a minor. The workshops at the Edinburgh Tool Library are for participants age 18 or over but we might welcome minors 15 - 17 when accompanied by a parent/guardian. We will consider if the workshop is appropriate for a minor and reserve the right to confirm or cancel the booking. Thank you for your understanding and please do get in touch beforehand.
