About this Event
“The best protection any woman can have… is courage.” - Elizabeth Cady Stanton
We love this sentiment, and believe that when it comes to riding a bike around our roads, the pathway to cultivating that courage comes about through understanding the essentials.
In this session you’ll learn the ABC bike safety check, a bit about route planning, how to connect with local group rides and finally, the essential road ready skills; safe stopping, indicating and positioning on road.
Cycle Babes free-to-access sessions provide people with hands-on cycle skills, confidence and leadership abilities in a relaxed group setting. We warmly welcome women and gender diverse people of all ages and backgrounds to their informal and fun events.

Big thanks to the Auckland Transport Community Bike Fund for their support. Our sessions are all free to access, but! If you are in a good position to provide koha to Tumeke we would absolutely love that.
Cycle Babes is all about learning from your peers, making new friends, recognising each other’s skills and sharing knowledge in a community group setting. So you can gain confidence in your abilities, learning by your own hand through the support of the group.
Spaces are limited! Registration is essential.
