Enhancing Cybercloud’s LinkedIn Brand Presence and Local Market Engagement
Background
Cybercloud Technologies is an IT Support and Cyber Security provider working with local businesses to secure, support, and scale their technology. We specialise in managed IT services, Microsoft 365, cyber security protection, and proactive support for growing companies.
As a growing business, we are looking to strengthen our brand presence, particularly on LinkedIn, and position Cybercloud as the trusted IT and cyber security partner for local businesses.
We are seeking fresh marketing ideas from students to help us build authority, increase engagement, and generate conversations with decision-makers in our target market.
Objective
The goal of this project is to develop a practical and results-driven LinkedIn content strategy that:
- Builds the Cybercloud brand locally
- Positions us as experts in IT & cyber security
- Engages local business owners and decision-makers
- Creates opportunities for new client conversations
The focus will primarily be on:
- The Cybercloud LinkedIn Business Page
- The Founder’s Personal LinkedIn Profile
Recruitment Opportunity
This competition will also serve as a recruitment opportunity for a Marketing Assistant.
The selected winner will be offered the opportunity to work with Cybercloud for:
Start Date: 6th April
Duration: 2 months
Working Pattern: 1 day per week
Location: On-site
Pay: £12.50 per hour
During this period, the successful candidate will work directly with the founder to:
- Create weekly LinkedIn content calendars
- Develop post ideas and captions
- Help refine brand messaging
- Assist with improving engagement and visibility
Project Scope
Students are required to develop a LinkedIn-focused marketing strategy. Key deliverables should include:
1. LinkedIn Content Strategy
- A 4-week sample content calendar
- Post ideas for both personal and business profiles
- Content themes (e.g. cyber tips, case studies, local spotlight, myth-busting, behind-the-scenes)
- Suggestions for balancing educational, authority-building, and relatable content
2. Brand Positioning & Messaging
- How should Cybercloud be positioned in the local market?
- Key messaging pillars
- Tone of voice recommendations
- How to stand out from other IT providers
3. Engagement & Lead Generation
- Strategies to increase comments, shares, and profile visits
- Ideas for conversation-starting posts
- How to subtly generate inbound enquiries without being “salesy”
- Ideas for targeting local businesses specifically
4. Performance & Measurement
- Suggested metrics to track (engagement rate, profile views, connection growth, enquiries)
- Tools or methods for monitoring performance
- Recommendations for ongoing improvement
Deliverables
At the end of the project, students are expected to deliver:
- A 10–15 minute presentation outlining their strategy
- A digital copy of their proposed LinkedIn content plan
- A sample week of fully written LinkedIn posts
Timeline
First Meeting with client: 25th March 2026
Final Presentation Date: 1st April 2026
Evaluation Criteria
Projects will be assessed on:
- Creativity and originality
- Practicality and realism of strategy
- Understanding of B2B marketing and LinkedIn
- Clarity and professionalism of presentation
- Ability to align marketing with business growth objectives
