About this Event
About: This workshop looks at techniques to expand the image making possibilities using the Cyanotype process: from the choice of the surfaces, post exposure techniques on toning and bleaching using different toners and experimental drawing techniques using cyanotype chemicals. We will explore different types of toners including botanical toners.
The workshop aims to inspire you to discover a new approach to image making using this process.
Workshop Structure: The session will start by exploring a variety of artists’ works that use the Cyanotype process.
This will be followed by a breakdown of different types of toners and how to prepare them. Then demonstrations on various techniques followed by your hands on experiments.
Individual and group support is given throughout the workshop.
We will end the workshop by reviewing everyone's work.
All materials will be provided. You are also welcome to bring in your own objects to work from.
If you prefer to wear an apron please bring one along with you.
About: I am a London based Japanese artist working with a variety of photographic processes, moving image and installations. The transformative quality of the different photographic processes fascinates me as it allows me to make associations and explore memory and imagination. To find out more about my practice please visit my IG account and website.
This workshop is part of the Cameraless / Alternative Photography Workshop Series.
