About this Event

Join the Commonwealth War Graves Commission for a free tour of Aberdeen (Trinity) Cemetery and Broadhill Extension, led by one of our experienced volunteer tour guides.

Our tours are free to the public, but if you would like to support us then please consider donating to our charity The Commonwealth War Graves Foundation (CWGF).

MEETING POINT is at the cemetery entrance on Park Road, close to the Cross of Sacrifice. What3words//else.civil.lions.

The tour will cover the key features of the cemetery, Cross of Sacrifice, memorials and war graves, telling the stories of some of the people we commemorate

The cemetery contains a Screen Wall upon which are inscribed the particulars of all the First World War graves in the cemetery. There are 170 burials of the First World War and 105 from the Second World War throughout the cemetery and extension.

The tour lasts approx 75 mins and covers about 500 metres on paths and grass with uneven ground with slopes.

There is on street parking available nearby. There are no on site facilities or toilets. Please bring water if required.

Please dress for the weather and wear suitable footwear.

Only assistance dogs are allowed on the tour.

Please note there can be last minute cancellations. This can be due to various reasons including illness, site issues and weather. We will email you as soon as we can, but this could include the morning of the tour, so please check your emails prior to leaving for the tour.

The Commonwealth War Graves Foundation (CWGF) aims to actively engage all communities with the work of the CWGC by telling the inspiring stories through education and outreach projects.

The CWGF is an independent charity registered with the Charity Commission of England and Wales (1171947) and Scotland (SC051982).
