MEETING POINT at the cemetery gates next to the lodge.

Grange Cemetery contains 40 headstones recognised by the CWGC as official war graves plus numerous family headstones commemorating family members who died during the Great War and the Second World War. Service personnel from the Army, Navy and RAF are commemorated. Some died of wounds sustained overseas and having succumbed to them in UK Hospitals. Others died of accidents whilst serving in UK. One memorial commemorates a member of the Home Guard killed during the London Blitz. Another commemorates two brothers killed whilst serving as officers during the Great War. This cemetery which opened in the 19th Century and is still in use today contains memorials which commemorate those the CWGC commemorate as buried in the cemetery or are cared for and commemorated by the commission elsewhere. Come and learn about the commission’s work and the stories of those who we remember.

The tour lasts approx. 90 mins and covers about 2000 metres on paths and grass with uneven ground.

Parking is available nearby. There are no facilities or toilets on site. Please bring water if required.

Please dress for the weather and wear suitable footwear.

Well behaved dogs on a lead are welcome in the cemetery

Please note there can be last minute cancellations. This can be due to various reasons including illness, site issues and weather. We will email you as soon as we can, but this could include the morning of the tour, so please check your emails prior to leaving for the tour.

The Commonwealth War Graves Foundation (CWGF) aims to actively engage all communities with the work of the CWGC by telling the inspiring stories through education and outreach projects.

The CWGF is an independent charity registered with the Charity Commission of England and Wales (1171947) and Scotland (SC05198
