Join the Commonwealth War Graves Commision for a free tour of Colchester Cemetery, led by one of our experienced volunteer tour guides.

MEETING POINT is at the crematorium car park which is signposted and situated at the top of the driveway from the Mersea Road entrance.
Colchester Cemetery holds 114 Second World War graves and 267 First World War graves, including 11 Australian, 4 Belgian, 15 Canadians and 1 Chinese. Hear about the work of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission and stories of some of the men and women that are commemorated in this Cemetery, including a VC winner from the Zulu wars.
The tour last approx. 60 mins and covers about 1500 meters on paths and grass with uneven ground with slopes. There is wheelchair access.
There is parking available on site. There are on site facilities including toilets available.
Please come dressed for the weather and wear suitable footwear.
Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome in the cemetery.
Please note there can be last minute cancellations. This can be due to various reasons including illness, site issues and weather. We will email you as soon as we can but this could include the morning of the tour, so please check your emails prior to leaving for the tour.
