CWAC Council of Sanctuary Award Celebration

Join us in celebrating the Council's recently awarded 'Council of Sanctuary' status, beginning with a networking lunch at 12:15!
About this Event

I am sure you will be aware that the number of refugees and asylum seekers is increasing nationally, including Cheshire West and Chester. The role that places of worship have in supporting these vulnerable members of our community shouldn’t be underestimated as we are so often at the frontline of those most in need. With this in mind, Chester Cathedral in partnership with the Council would like to invite you to two events on Wednesday 12th February 2025.

First Event: CWAC Borough of Sanctuary Faith Networking Event - 09:30 – 12:15 in the Chapter House, Chester Cathedral

Networking lunch: between 12:15 and 13:00 (venue at the Cathedral TBC)

Second Event: CWAC Council of Sanctuary Award Celebration - 13:15 – 15:00 in the Chapter House, Chester Cathedral

This will focus on celebrating those seeking sanctuary and will include a presentation to the Council from the Founder and President of the City of Sanctuary Networks, Dr Inderjit Bhogal, for its recently awarded ‘Council of Sanctuary’ status. We expect the event to finish by 3pm.

This event will be open for anyone that attended the faith networking event in the morning as well as anyone else who would like to join us for the celebration.
