About this Event
Current Draft is designed for adults and teens 16+, especially those who used to dance, love dance, or always wanted to dance, but feel unsure about stepping into a traditional studio. Whether it’s the intimidation of a full semester commitment or the pressure of beginner and advanced level labels, this dancer enriching series offers a welcoming alternative. It’s not about perfect technique or unison. Instead, it’s about coming into a space, tuning into your body, and creating something true and of the moment. Each class begins with a check-in and a somatic warm-up, followed by movement prompts and collaborative phrase work. We use choreographic tools, improvisational scores, and spatial relationships to generate short mini-dances crafted in real time by the people in the room. Everyone contributes. Everyone belongs. The focus isn’t on what someone can’t do, but on amplifying what they can. It’s a powerful way to reconnect to the body with imagination and to other people in motion.
Fee: $100 for full 6-week session/ $20 drop-in per class.
Registration for full series closes at 5:00pm on January 5.
