About this Event
Join us on Friday, 17 April at 7 PM for a special evening dedicated to rare and unusual wines from around the world.
This is a rare chance to taste exceptional bottles that are almost never poured by the glass, made possible thanks to the Coravin system, allowing us to serve remarkable wines.
For this event we will explore nine curious wines — from volcanic reds of the Canary Islands to the legendary Vin Jaune of Jura, aged under flor for more than six years.

WHITE
Quealy Splendido Moscato Giallo
Moscato Giallo — Mornington Peninsula, Australia
An unusual Australian expression of the aromatic Italian grape Moscato Giallo. Rarely planted in Australia, this version from the Quealy family highlights intense florals, citrus blossom and spice. A curious wine showing how Mediterranean varieties thrive in the cool coastal climate of Mornington.
Deucalion Assyrtiko
Assyrtiko — Karditsa, Greece
Assyrtiko is Greece’s most celebrated white grape, famous for its electric acidity and mineral character. Produced outside its traditional island home of Santorini, this wine offers a rare mainland interpretation of the variety with striking freshness, saline notes and vibrant citrus.
Fiano Heathcote Skin Contact
A fascinating Australian take on the southern Italian grape Fiano, made with skin contact. This technique transforms a white grape into an amber-toned wine with texture, savoury complexity and subtle tannin — bridging the worlds of white and orange wines.
I'm Hinterhofkabuff Elgin Skin Contact Riesling
Riesling — Elgin, South Africa
Riesling is typically made in a very pure, delicate style, but here it undergoes skin contact, creating a textured and slightly tannic interpretation. This experimental approach from the cool-climate Elgin region results in a wine that is aromatic yet structured — a rare twist on a classic grape.
YELLOW
Savagnin Arbois Vin Jaune (Sous Voile)
Savagnin — Jura, France
Vin Jaune — literally “Yellow Wine” — is one of the most unique wines in the world. Made from the Savagnin grape in the Jura region of eastern France, it is aged for more than six years under a natural veil of yeast known as “flor.”
This slow oxidative ageing creates intense aromas of walnut, toasted spice, curry leaf and dried fruit, supported by powerful acidity and remarkable longevity.
Vin Jaune is traditionally bottled in a distinctive 62 cl bottle called a Clavelin, representing the volume left after years of evaporation during ageing.
A rare and legendary wine style — truly one of the great curiosities of the wine world.
RED
Puro Rofe Tinto
Listán Negro — Canary Islands, Spain
Grown in volcanic soils on the island of Lanzarote, where vines grow in black lava ash and are protected from Atlantic winds by stone walls. Listán Negro is an indigenous grape rarely seen outside the Canary Islands, producing elegant, mineral-driven reds with smoky volcanic character.
Xiao Pu Gathering MV7
Syrah, Pinot Noir, Marselan, Malbec, Welschriesling —
Ningxia, China
A fascinating blend from one of the most exciting emerging wine regions in the world. Combining both European and international grape varieties, this wine reflects the adventurous spirit of modern Chinese winemaking.
Forjas del Salnés “Goliardo” Espadeiro
Espadeiro — Rías Baixas, Spain
Espadeiro is an ancient and almost forgotten grape native to Galicia. Revived by small artisan producers, it produces vibrant, light-bodied reds with bright acidity and wild red-fruit character — a rare glimpse into Spain’s historic grape heritage.
