Curbside Book Donation Drop-Off

The Friends of the Cromwell Belden Public Library are collecting new and gently used books to be used for our upcoming book sale in early May.
We're once again making it easy for you to clean out your bookshelves by hosting this drive thru event - simply put your donations in a box in your trunk, drive up to the library, and volunteers will unload for you!
Please note that all donations must be in excellent condition for resale - no torn pages or covers or musty smells, please! While we appreciate your generosity, PLEASE do not bring books that have been kept in a damp basement, garage or outdoor shed - this creates more work for us as they will be discarded - we do not sell books in poor condition. We also do not accept textbooks or medical/health/fitness books more than five years old. All book sale proceeds will benefit library programs.
We accept:
✅ New releases & bestsellers
✅ Popular fiction and non-fiction
✅ LARGE PRINT books (both fiction and non-fiction)
✅ Cookbooks
✅ Children's books for all ages
✅ Teen/YA books
✅ Graphic novels for all ages
✅ Classics, vintage and signed books
✅ Recent (within 5 years) health, fitness, reference books
✅ Biographies, memoirs, history, politics
✅ Coffee table books and art books
✅ Other special interest books including crafts & hobbies, sports, self-help, personal growth, new age, spiritual, religion, philosophy, etc.
Sorry, but we are not accepting:
❌ Digital Media
❌ Readers Digest
❌ Magazines
❌ Encyclopedias
❌ Textbooks
❌ Reference books more than 5 years old
❌ Books in poor condition (moldy, torn pages, etc.)
Love sorting? Need volunteer hours? Just looking to do something to do to help our community? We are seeking volunteers to assist with this event. Volunteers can assist with greeting donors, emptying trunks, loading carts, sorting books (inside the Belden Room), labeling, packing or moving pre-sorted boxes away to be stored for our book sale. (Love Tetris? We need you! You'd be a perfect fit for packing boxes!) Please reach out to [email protected] to sign up to volunteer.
