Join curator Jon Sleigh (he/him) for a friendly, relaxed and warm exploration of LGBTQ+ stories and art in the Graves Gallery.

Queer histories have always existed, though they’ve sometimes been hidden or misinterpreted. In this tour, Jon will introduce a range of artworks and objects that reveal how Queerness has shaped the museum collection. Explore identity, representation and LGBTQ+ visibility in artworks including David Hockney’s Cleanliness Is Next To Godliness and Gwen John’s Portrait of Winifred John amongst other treasures both familiar and perhaps new to you.
