Live at Sam’s and Nether Edge Festival are delighted to welcome Culverake to St Andrews Church, Sheffield S11 8YL as they say ‘Farewell for Now’It’s been a real treat to watch this band develop and grow over the last couple of years, when they told me that they were having to take a break I knew I wanted to help them go out in style..
Culverake are a traditional singing trio promising gusto and harmonies a plenty. Made up of Seb Stone, Matt Quinn and Lizzy Hardingham, they breathe new life into timeless melodies. Culverake (Matt Quinn, Lizzy Hardingham and Seb Stone) are a vocal trio, specialising in traditional British Folk Song. Matt Quinn is known for his work with the Dovetail Trio and duo with George Sansome, Lizzy Hardingham is known as a powerhouse performer of both traditional material and her own songs, and Seb Stone is an up and coming traditional singer and uilleann pipes player with roots in both English and Irish music. “Culverake are the sonic equivalent of a bright summer’s day – everything pops with clarity, focus and warmth.” James Fagan, Thank Goodness It’s Folk
Here’s the band statement..
Culverake: Farewell For Now
This is hard for us to write: after what will have been nearly three years of singing together, we’ve taken the difficult decision to take a break in September 2026. We’ve had a real blast singing together, and are incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported us in that time through coming to our gigs, putting us on or buying our music. Thank you.
We will of course continue to perform together over the summer at various gigs and festivals (watch our social media) before our final gig in Sheffield on 17th September at Live At Sam’s.
