Mixing It Up

What's new for 2024?

2024 brings a new multi-event series experience with 2 Festival days which include a Carnival, Concert Fete & Mini-Fest.

Whilst we've mixed things up a bit it's still one big weekend festival with a great family vibe & fantastic value tickets for all.

Choose how deep into culture you want to go, attend everything or something... you're the one in control.

Changes Overview:

Saturday is festival day 1, where you'll see 2 new curated events called UK ZESS Fest + SOCA REPUBLIC.

Sunday we've got Windrush Festival running from 12pm - 8pm but we've also expanded our carnival concept into a full parade route from Peckham Square which makes its way to Burgess Park. Spectators are free to watch but participation in the parade requires the purchase of a Culture Pack. The carnival parade arrives at the Windrush festival at 4pm.

Culture Packs are ways to enhance or deepend your event experiences.

This year there's a playspace for the likkle ones, a silent shubeen, sound system culture yard, live stage, the classic car members meet up with the ACR Afro Classics Family, culture house, our community space for making & creating, vintage music party & games garden +plus much more

A carnival masquerade parade on the streets from Peckham to Burgess Park

In 2023 Hype Mas joined Culture Weekend to highlight carnival culture with our own moving carnival truck parade, complete with masqueraders in the festival.

Now in 2024 we are really excited to announce that we have extended our celebrations & the expression of our culture to the actual streets of Southwark, with a brand new carnival parade for the people.

Produced & curated with Hype Mas, we'll be bringing the streets alive with a parade starting at Peckham Square & ending in Burgess Park where masqueraders & revellers alike will join the festivities of the Windrush Festival on Sunday.

There is also an option for all pass holders to purchase a Carnival South Culture Pack & join the parade on the streets before heading to park.

NOTE: Spectators are welcome to watch the mas parade however all entrants to the Windrush Festival must hold a ticket to enter the grounds.
