The Friends of the New Mexico Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum present the Culture Series, a monthly program that brings history, culture, and storytelling to life. Each event is free and open to the public, with presentations ranging from local history to the arts, agriculture, and traditions that shape New Mexico.

• Jan. 8, 2026 – Ancient Agriculture
NMSU professor Thomas Hart will guide audiences through ancient Maya marketplaces, the farming practices of the Jornada, and the origins of New Mexico’s iconic chili peppers.
• Feb. 12, 2026 – Let Me Entertain You: Three Madams of Silver City
Historian Liz Mikols of the Historical Society of New Mexico will share the surprising impact of Silver City’s early madams on the frontier community.
