About this Event

Join us on Friday, June 12, from 6:00-8:00 PM, for a Civil War lecture presented by authors Jeffrey Harding and Dr. Jon Nese, based on their recently published book, The Weather Gods Curse the Gettysburg Campaign (The History Press, 2025).

In this Culture & Cocktails lecture, Dr. Jon Nese and Jeffrey Harding will explore the weather conditions and their effects on the Battle of Gettysburg, using primary sources, groundbreaking meteorological research, and their knowledge as battlefield guides and meteorologists. This is a fascinating look at the Gettysburg Campaign from a new perspective!

Dr. Jon Nese is an author and teaching professor in the Department of Meteorology and Atmospheric Science at Penn State University, and Jeffrey J. Harding is an author and Licensed Battlefield Guide at Gettysburg National Military Park.

Culture & Cocktails is generously sponsored by the James & Mary Schurz Foundation. C&C is held on the second Friday of each month from 6:00-8:00 PM. Doors open at 5:30 PM. Refreshments and one complimentary drink ticket are included with each ticket.

This month's cocktail will be a Civil War-era cocktail to be announced!
