About this Event
Join us for Cultural & Innovative Fridays at the Consulate-General of Japan in Boston, featuring a special program on furoshiki, the traditional Japanese art of wrapping with cloth.
In this session, artist and designer Nefertiti San Miguel introduces furoshiki through her unique approach, “Neuroshiki” - the art and science behind gift-giving. Blending traditional technique with insights from behavioral neuroscience and psychology, this presentation explores how the way we wrap and present gifts can shape perception, emotion, and connection.
The program will include a demonstration of furoshiki wrapping techniques, along with opportunities to observe and engage with the process.
Whether you are interested in Japanese culture, sustainable practices, or thoughtful design, this event offers a fresh and creative perspective on an enduring tradition!
