This webinar will provide practitioners with the necessary knowledge and tools for curriculum implementation, as well as the evidence indicating its efficacy in the classroom. The WeFEEL approach focuses on the following objectives: 1) recognizing emotions in yourself and others, 2) understanding the causes of emotions, 3) labeling emotions, 4) expressing emotions appropriately, and 5) co- and self-regulating emotions. This approach utilizes children’s literature focused on emotions, diversity and inclusion, thinking and mindfulness activities, yoga, and meditation. It focuses on a coaching model and emphasizes fostering co-regulation to achieve self-regulation in the classroom and at home.
Objectives:
The participants will be able to…
1. Describe the WeFEEL Approach.
2. Explain how children's literature is best used to nurture emotional intelligence.
3. Identify games that foster emotional intelligence in young children.
