About Leslie Harris
Leslie has been an avid carnivorous plant grower and enthusiast for over 15 years. She first became interested in carnivorous plants when seeking a solution to a fly problem in her backyard. It led her to her local group of Southern California Carnivorous Plant Enthusiasts (SCCPE) and has since inspired her passion for botanical bug-eating wonders that have turned the tables on the food chain.
Leslie is also the Senior Polychaetes Collections Manager at the National History Museum. She has worked with its polychaete collection (marine annelid worms) since 1988 and an eminent authority on the marine flora and fauna of California. She has been instrumental in the acquisition of major private polychaete collections for the museum and is one of the founders of the Southern California Association of Marine Invertebrate Taxonomists.
