About this Event

Spending time gardening and connecting with nature has been shown to reduce stress and anxiety while increasing feelings of hope, confidence, and belonging.
Cultivate & Connect is a small-group herbal farming cohort for folks curious about medicinal and culinary herbs, hands-on farm learning, and community connection. Participants commit to seven once-a-month sessions (April–October), engaging in planting, harvesting, processing, and land stewardship while learning alongside plants and people.
Things we might do in the field: bed prep, seed starting, transplanting, orchard tending, harvesting flower, fruit, leaf, and root crops, learning about wild foraged plants, and engage in Winter garden prep and pruning

Things we’ll do in the apothecary: tea tasting to hone organoleptic skills, medicine-making demonstrations, proper drying, garbling, record keeping, and storage of herbs

Things we’ll do in community: peer-to-peer education, journaling and reflection, relationship building, resource sharing, networking

What You’ll Receive 💚

  • 7 weeks (28 hours) of hands-on farming and experience with herbs
  • Fresh herbs to take home each week
  • Organoleptic tea-tasting sessions
  • Learning about herbs and stewarding herbs as a business
  • Peer to peer sharing of skills, experience, knowledge, ingenuity, energy, conversation, and companionship
  • The potential for continued relationships and evolution with Fox Haven and other participants

This cohort takes place once a month from April through October, from 9 am-1 pm on the last Sunday of the month. Open to up to 10 participants.

Who Should Apply? We welcome applicants of all experience levels! Whether you’re an aspiring herbalist, gardener, or nature enthusiast, this program is for those who:

✅ Are looking to deepen their relationship with nature
✅ Can commit to 4 hours per week for the full 6 weeks
