About this Event
A sobremesa-style gathering that brings together the editors of Culinary Mestizaje with local practitioners of the La Doce Barrio Foodways Project, Regeneración, and partners in Tucson’s food and land justice ecosystem. Hosted at Louis’ Market—the emerging Center for Cultural Organizing—this event invites participants into a shared space of food, storytelling, and reflection to explore how food becomes a pathway to belonging, cultural continuity, land stewardship, and collective power in communities navigating extraction and food insecurity. Over a shared meal, we’ll hear from the authors, learn about the evolution of the La Doce Barrio Foodways Project into the new Southside Community Land Trust, and engage in a moderated panel and sobremesa table dialogues that deepen relationships and spark imagination for future work in the region.
Parking is available at Retamoza Tax Services (4107 S 12th Ave), feel free to park in the dirt lot.
