Fishing is a great way to bring people together to create lifelong memories.Our workshop is designed to teach families with Cub Scouts the basic skills needed to go fishing. Whether you’re a first-timer or an expert angler, this workshop will help get everyone in the family on the path to creating an outdoor adventure and cherished fishing memories.
This workshop is a hands-on learning experience for all, including fishing on the center’s stocked ponds. Families will learn:
How to set up and cast a fishing rod
How to tie a basic fishing knot
How to catch a fish
Catch-and-Release fishing methods
How to properly handle a fish
Fishing Ethics
What you need to know:
This event is designed to be a learning experience for parents with Cub Scouts ages 5 years to 10 years.
Parents and guardians will participate in the fishing activities along with children to enhance the learning experience and to begin building those fishing memories.
All tackle and bait are provided (no outside tackle or bait permitted)
