In today’s business environment, organisations face new challenges due to the increasing demands from regulators and other stakeholders for transparent, comprehensive and accurate information on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) matters, subject to mandatory limited assurance. The introduction of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (“CSRD”) and the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (“ESRS”) created the need of a thorough understanding of sustainability reporting. This training programme aims to equip professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively communicate their sustainability performance and impact, in accordance with the EU requirements.

The seminar is designed for professionals from various fields in the financial and non-financial sector. Professionals involved in sustainability reporting and stakeholder engagement as well as ESG data owners will particularly benefit from a deeper understanding of the new sustainability reporting requirements. Stalo Demosthenous| Manager| Sustainability & Emerging Assurance
Stalo is a Manager at Deloitte’s Sustainability & Emerging Assurance practice with a diverse background in the environmental sector, including work with Not-for-Profit organisations, Research Institutions, EU Projects, the Public Sector, and Consulting firms.
She holds a BSc in Environmental Science and Technology, an MSc in Environmental Strategy, and several certifications such as ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, and ISO 14064-1 as a consultant and auditor.
Stalo is a Certified Trainer by the HRDA of Cyprus, a Practitioner Member of IEMA, and an environmental field expert for Cyprus Civil Defence and the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency.
She has led sustainability projects in industries like shipping, hospitality, procurement, retail, manufacturing, and banking, supporting organisations with ESG assessments, sustainability reporting, and strategy development.
Nayia Christofi| Manager| Sustainability & Emerging Assurance
Nayia is a Manager at Deloitte’s Sustainability & Emerging Assurance practice. She holds a BSc in Business and Public Administration from the University of Cyprus and an MSc in Sustainability and Business from the University of Leeds.
Nayia has been involved in many sustainability assurance and advisory projects for organizations operating in various industries including, manufacturing, oil and gas, a GCC Freezone Authority, aviation, banking, investment management, and insurance companies.
The engagements she was involved in include assurance of Sustainability Reports as well as assurance of various sustainability metrics including GHG Emissions scope 1,2 and 3 and assurance on Green Bond Statements of Proceeds.
Nayia has also conducted ESG reporting readiness assessments and supported clients in their sustainability reporting journey, through developing ESG materiality assessments and their ESG report.
Nayia has also supported clients with complying with other EU Regulations such as the SFDR and conducted trainings and workshops on the CSRD, the ESRS standards and the GRI standards and best practices in the sustainability reporting process.
