Dark Bottle is a punk-folk/country and doombilly band from Tampere, founded in 2015. L. Don Ohkami’s traditional clawhammer banjo and resoguitar are electrified, paired with Teemu Kiiskilä’s powerful Telecaster twang and propelled by the rhythm section of Lauri Leinonen and Janne Similä to create a driving, pogo-inspiring fusion of old-time Appalachian country, punk and doom metal unlike anything you’ve heard before. Their shows combine their own whimsical, satirical and political songs with high energy, rockin’ takes on classic material from the likes of Uncle Dave Macon and Woody Guthrie. To borrow a phrase from one of Don’s other bands, the Handlebars, there’s gonna be sour mash in the mosh pit!
