Crow & Gazelle is the deeply moving musical partnership of Mike McClure and Chrislyn Lawrence—a collaboration born from healing, love, and a shared creative vision.
Built around their intertwined vocal harmonies and sparse, reverent acoustic instrumentation, Crow & Gazelle creates music that feels both intimate and powerful. Their songs explore growth, connection, and the sacred nature that lives within each of us.
“This project is all about seizing the moment to become more alive and to honor what is evolving within us—to use our voices in harmony to impart healing and to offer love out into a world that is so torn apart.”
Though As Above Now So Below (released April 26, 2024) marks their debut album as Crow & Gazelle, Mike and Chrislyn’s history together stretches back decades. The two first met at a concert near Fort Worth in 2003 and immediately felt what they describe as “an ancient connection.” Life took them in different directions for many years, but fate brought them back together in 2018—this time for good.
Many will know Mike McClure as one of the founding voices of the Oklahoma Red Dirt music scene, producing influential records for artists such as Turnpike Troubadours, Jason Boland, Kaitlin Butts, and Cross Canadian Ragweed. Chrislyn Lawrence spent many years working behind the scenes in music and creative fields—from artist management and videography to advocacy and healing work—before stepping into the spotlight as a performer.
Together they’ve created something unique. Their music draws on spiritual imagery, raw vulnerability, and deeply human storytelling, inviting listeners to reflect, release, and reconnect with the deeper currents of life.
Much of their debut album was recorded live in Pawnee, Oklahoma at the studio once owned by the late Steve Ripley of The Tractors, capturing the spirit of the room and the power of two voices meeting in harmony.
At their live shows, Crow & Gazelle gather around a single microphone, allowing their voices to weave together in a way that feels both timeless and transcendent. The result is a deeply intimate experience that moves through grief, joy, reflection, and hope.
Join us at The Blue Door for an unforgettable evening of music, connection, and harmony.
